Tribute & Message From The Family

Paul Edward LeClair, 59, of Gilford, NH passed away at home on Friday, April 22, 2016 following a courageous battle with sarcoma. He was surrounded by the love of his family through his final hours.
Paul was born in Portsmouth, VA on February 11, 1957 to Peter E. LeClair II and Joyce (Nutsford) and was raised in the Manchester, NH area. Upon graduation from college, Paul embarked on a successful and rewarding 30-year career with Bard Electrophysiology, a division of C.R. Bard, Inc. Through his work, Paul was given the opportunity to travel. He understood the value of such a gift and took full advantage of it; traveling all over the globe, exploring different cultures and communities, and experiencing everything the world had to offer. He shared his love for travel with family through their numerous family vacations.
Paul adored his wife Lauren and two daughters, Brittany and Courtney and made certain to show them they were his world. Paul and Lauren's deep love for one another was evident as they exhibited the true and lasting values of a strong and beautiful marriage. He cherished the many friendships he made throughout his journey and appreciated how each person he met enriched his life, but perhaps one of his liveliest companions was his always-energetic Great Dane, Kona, and his only male ally in the house. Paul also loved lake life with family and friends on his boat at Lake Winnipesaukee.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Lauren (Pallotto) LeClair. Paul also leaves behind his treasured daughters, Brittany and Courtney LeClair; his father- and mother-in-law, Norman and Barbara Pallotto; and many loving extended family members. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his only sibling, his brother, Peter E. LeClair III.
Family and friends are invited to gather Thursday, April 28, 2016 11:00am-1:30pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue in Manchester. A memorial service will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel. Complimentary valet service will be provided. The family welcomes flowers, but those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Paul's name may do so by visiting www.curesarcoma.org.

As a young engineer, I started working at Bard EP in 1993 and watched Paul effectively plan and organize the Haverhill cleanroom manufacturing by leading his team of supervisors. After a re-organization (the new-normal), I began working for Paul. He was a street-smart guy, non-technical, but did a great job at managing technical people and technical problems. I lost contact with Paul many years ago but I remember that he always found a bright spot in any situation. I realize that the upside of not keeping in touch with Paul is that, in my memory, he is the healthy and energetic friend just as he was when I said goodbye in 2001. Thanks Paul, for being a great mentor and a fun boss I make a special effort to mentor young engineers from working for you.

I was privileged to work with Paul for close on 15 years at Bard. He was an outstanding project manager, with his own very unique style. He had great follow through but here is the LeClair way: (1) Identify the problem (2) deal with the associated absurdity (3) research and implement the solution (4) persuade everyone he was right (6) follow up- which usually meant finding a bar. In fact, most of my best memories of Paul began or ended in bars. He was irrepressibly optimistic and the office would often ring with his infectious laughter. His approachability meant that his office was an open door for anyone who needed help or advice. He turned out to be a great and generous mentor to the coming generation in the industry. Heaven just got itself a great manager and organizer, in fact, he is already up there, organizing the lines and making everyone laugh. Good luck Paul, you will be sorely missed by us all.

Love and condolences to Lauren and the family, he adored you.

Lauren, Courtney and Britney, I'm so sorry to hear about Paul and your Dad. I remember all the times at Gail and Andrews especially during football season and cookouts and how much fun we all had. It was wonderful knowing him and he will be missed. You all have been and will continue to be in my prayers.
