Gloria was born on August 18, 1921 in Manchester, NH. She graduated from Central High School, Class of 1940. After graduating from high school, she worked at the New England Telephone Company, enjoyed traveling to Boston by train with her girlfriends, and had a four-year long-distance courtship with Bob during WWII.

Her unconditional love of family is what she lived for. She also loved the many family cats and dogs, watching birds and watching Ginny working in her gardens. Gloria was an avid reader, loved to play gin rummy and scrabble, and loved to dance and sing. She is remembered as an excellent cook who loved to feed her family and loved large family gatherings. She was thrilled to become a grandmother, and then, a great-grandmother.

During Bob’s retirement, they traveled together to many new places around the country to places such as Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, Florida, and many others. After Bob’s death she traveled with family to Hawaii and Florida and enjoyed her birthday celebrations with family at such places as Newfound Lake, Lake Wentworth and New Castle Commons.

Everyone who met Gloria knew she was one-of-a-kind as they came to know the loving, sweet woman always with a beautiful smile. She was beautiful in every respect.

The family would like to thank Carriage Hill Assisted Living staff for their care and support during this past year. They would also like to thank Wentworth-Douglass Hospital staff and Cornerstone VNA Hospice for their care and kindness during the last days of Gloria’s life.
