CAROLYN (KIM) CHAMBERLIN CROSS

CAROLYN PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT THE AGE OF 89, ON AUGUST 23 IN LANCASTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE.

BORN JANUARY 28, 1928 IN AUGUSTA, MAINE TO KENNETH AND MARION (IDE) YORK, CAROLYN WAS ADOPTED AT A YOUNG AGE BY MILTON KIMBALL OF LITTLETON, NH. HER CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENT YEARS WERE SPENT IN LITTLETON AND GILMAN VT.

CAROLYN ATTENDED BENNINGTON COLLEGE IN VT, DEVELOPING HER ARTISTIC AND ACTING TALENTS. SHE MOVED TO NEW YORK CITY WHERE SHE ATTENDED AND GRADUATED SECRETARIAL COLLEGE AND BEGAN WORKING IN THE CITY. DURING HER REGULAR TRAIN COMMUTE BETWEEN NYC AND LITTLETON, CAROLYN MET FELLOW COMMUTER RICHARD CHAMBERLIN OF RYEGATE VT. A ROMANCE ENSUED AND THEY WERE MARRIED IN LITTLETON IN 1952.

THEY MOVED TO BOSTON WHERE THEIR ONLY CHILD, SUSAN, WAS BORN. IN 1960, RICHARD'S CAREER BROUGHT THE FAMILY TO MONTREAL, CANADA, WHERE THEY ENJOYED THE CITY FOR NEARLY 40 YEARS. IN 1997, RICHARD AND CAROLYN RETURNED TO LITTLETON, WHERE, SHORTLY THEREAFTER, RICHARD PASSED AWAY.

IN LITTLETON, CAROLYN RE-CONNECTED WITH AN OLD ACQUAINTANCE, PHILIP CROSS, AND THE TWO WERE MARRIED IN 2000. TOGETHER THEY ENJOYED A HAPPY AND ACTIVE LIFE IN LITTLETON AND BRADENTON, FL.

CAROLYN'S LAST TWO YEARS WERE SPENT AT COUNTRY VILLAGE NURSING HOME IN LANCASTER, NH WHERE SHE STAYED VERY ACTIVE AND INVOLVED IN LIFE. THE FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO SINCERELY THANK THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE AT COUNTRY VILLAGE WHOSE CARE AND AFFECTION CONTRIBUTED SO MUCH TO CAROLYN'S HAPPINESS IN HER FINAL YEARS.

CAROLYN WAS A CARING, VIBRANT, FUN-LOVING WOMAN, WITH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. SHE WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO LEND AN EAR AND GIVE SUPPORT AND ADVICE WHENEVER IT WAS REQUESTED. IN MONTREAL, SHE WAS INVOLVED IN HER CHURCH AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT HELPED AND SUPPORTED THOSE LESS FORTUNATE IN THE COMMUNITY. SHE ENJOYED SEWING, PAINTING AND ARTS AND CRAFTS. BUT MOST OF ALL, CAROLYN WAS A LOVING AND DEVOTED MOTHER AND BEST FRIEND TO SUSAN.
CAROLYN HAD A GOOD LIFE, A GOOD PASSING AND SHE WENT OUT AT THE TOP OF HER GAME!!!

CAROLYN WAS PREDECEASED BY RICHARD CHAMBERLIN AND PHILIP CROSS, HER STEPDAUGHTER DEBRA CROSS AND STEPSISTER JUNE MCCARTHY (KIMBALL).

SHE WILL BE SADLY MISSED BY HER LOVING DAUGHTER SUSAN (DAVID) LANGAN OF MONTREAL, HER STEPSONS DOUGLAS (MARION) AND DUANE CROSS OF LITTLETON AND HER STEPGRANDCHILDREN DANIELLE (MICHEL) WHITE OF NEW BOSTON NH, CHARLES CROSS OF LITTLETON AND BRISTOL CROSS OF SANFORD, FL AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AIDEN AND FREYA ROSE.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, DONATIONS CAN BE MADE TO THE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE

SERVICES: A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE PILLSBURY PHANEUF FUNERAL HOME LOCATED AT 101 UNION STREET, LITTLETON, NH AT 1:00 P.M. ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2017 WITH REV. LYN WINTER OFFICIATING. THE SERVICE WILL BE FOLLOWED BY A GATHERING AT THE BEAL HOUSE INN, LITTLETON, NH, TO CELEBRATE THE WONDERFUL WOMAN FONDLY KNOWN AS KIM. A PRIVATE INTERNMENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT A LATER DATE.
