Tribute & Message From The Family

Jason Paul Dickey, 19, of Boscawen died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 14, 2017.
Jason was born in Malden, MA on October 21, 1997 to Paul and Martha (Arsenault) Dickey. He was a graduate of Merrimack Valley High School Class of 2016 and was a valued team member at Market Basket on Fort Eddy Road in Concord.
Jason possessed a heart of the truest gold and a smile that could light up any room. A hug from Jason was like no other; his hugs were the tightest and fullest of love. He had a deep appreciation of music and nice cars, and an unparalleled sense of fashion. Jason knew the value of dressing not for where you are, but for where you want to go.
In addition to his loving parents Jason is survived his cherished siblings, brother Garrett "Gee" Cassidy and wife Kimmy, and sisters Kaitlyn "KK" and Ryan "Sissy" Cassidy. He was the much-loved nephew of Cheryl and James McGonagle and the "heart nephew" to so many of his parents' friends; caring uncle to Haileigh, Jason, Kaira, Philip, and Rey-Leigh; and dear friend of Kelly, Haley, Andrew, Tommy, and countless others. He also leaves behind Garrett "Pop Pop" Cassidy, with whom he had a very special bond, as well as numerous cousins and other extended family. Jason was predeceased by his beloved maternal grandparents Emily Arsenault and John Blaikie and paternal grandparents Richard and Kathaleen (Honey) Dickey. The emptiness left by Jason's passing will be felt by all whose lives he touched, and he will be greatly missed by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Jason's life on Monday, September 18th 11:00am-2:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral, 172 King Street in Boscawen. Jason will be laid to rest immediately following at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the Greater Boston chapter of The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention 120 Wall Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY 10005 (please note "Greater Boston Chapter in memory of Jason Dickey" in the memo field of your check, or donate online at www.afsp.org. Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements.

I knew Jason as a student at Merrimack Valley High School and then at Market Basket . He was a wonderful , polite , funny , creative genuine young man who I shared many lively and wonderful conversations with ! He would greet me in market basket with his " hi Mrs K" how are you ? Offer to help me with my groceries and just be the great young man he was . It broke my heart to hear of his passing last night . He will be in my thoughts for a long time to come and so will his parents and family . My sincere deepest condolences to his parents and family . He was an exceptional young man.

I didn't know Jason for long, but the short moments I did have with him always put a smile on my face. He was always full of joy and did his best to get along with everyone. I looked up to him just merely based on the stories I heard about him before actually speaking to him personally, and the first conversation we had together I knew I was going to get along with him.

You will be missed dearly. #Nick #leader #CD

Jason, or Nick (the name I know him by) was a great friend, mentor, and leader in my eyes. We met online in a small gaming community called Critical Damage. He was always there for anyone who needed it and always knew how to put a smile on my face. You were always a brother to me and I'm blessed for having you in my life. Thank you for being a great friend and I'll truly miss you. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this rough time. May you rest in peace brother.

I met Jason through an online game called Runescape. He brought so many people together and so many laughs along the way, we became a family because of him. Jason was a person you could always trust and follow through any type of situation. I'm very thankful to have met him in my life, even through a video game you could tell he was a really great guy and down to earth person. Myself and the rest of the CD community really hope you're at peace, and thank you for everything that you did for us.

Jason will most certainly be missed. His fun loving spirit, his big hugs, his sense of humor, and his great love for New England sports teams. We will always hold dear that Jully when you melted in Houston to see the Sox, the beer can house, eat some Texas steak and sit in Houston traffic! To Martha and Paul, you've raised an amazing young man and we are so honored that we were able to be a part of his life. We love you all!

Sincerely,

Jason was a really good friend to a lot of people. He was always smiling. Always making people around him laugh. We used to be close and grew apart over the years. I still remember meeting him like it was only yesterday, we were in middle school when we had met and gotten close. Jason, you will always be loved and missed by many. We all hope you are at peace now. Keep on smiling man, you always had the best smile.
