George R. Ouellette, 85, of Center Barnstead, NH, passed away April 17, 2015 at Bellamy Fields Health Care Center in Dover, NH after a lengthy period of failing health and Alzheimer’s.

George was born June 5, 1929, the son of Edna Vachon Langlois and Omer Langlois of Newmarket, NH.

George was an avid athlete in his younger days, playing Dover High School basketball (Captain 1947) and baseball, including semi pro sports as well.

George was an active member with the Dover Elks (25 yrs), Lions Club (20yrs), Knights of Columbus (25 yrs), Loyal Order of the Moose (15 yrs) Dover Christmas Parade Committee (25 yrs), Cochecho Country Club member and UNH 120 Club (20+ yrs). He was also a UNH hockey season ticket holder and part of the Friends of UNH Hockey Club for many years.

George worked for Sherwin Williams for 31 years in many managerial positions throughout his career. He served 11 years in the Navy with an honorable discharge in 1959.

George was a very active Catholic attending numerous services in the neighboring communities. He enjoyed living on Suncook Lake in Barnstead with his family.

George was a kind and generous faithful friend to all and will be sorely missed. He was very outgoing and opened up to all; welcoming them and making them feel like part of the family and treating them all the same.

George leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Joan (Orrill) Ouellette; three sons, Peter, David and Jim; as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who he loved very much.
