Tribute & Message From The Family

Wayne Randall Charette, 57 years of age, of Concord, NH died Wednesday, March 21, 2018, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Survived by his wife, Patricia Meier of Concord, NH; two children, Ashley Charette of Atlanta, GA and son, Nicholas Charette of Concord, NH, his two adopted children, Rubin Jennings of Atlanta, GA and Kara Bell of Concord, NH; his two Grandchildren, Mr. Feeny and Oliver. He also leaves six siblings: Kathleen Madore of Casewell, ME, Patsy Berube of Sturbridge, MA, Rena Miller of Fremont, NH, Mel Damphousse of Salem, NH, Patrick Charette of Dumfries, VA and Ronald Charette of Monroe, CT as well as his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Patrick & Rella Charette.

Wayne was born on January 8, 1961 in Presque Isle, Maine and remained there until a young adult. After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maine, he and his first wife and mother of his two beloved children, Laurisa (Murchison) Charette, moved to NH in 1983 and Wayne began his long career in the sales industry of window treatments. For the last 15 years, Wayne worked for Hunter Douglas as a Regional Sales Rep. Wayne always took great pride in his work and he considered fellow co-workers and his clients as his "Hunter Family".
While Wayne loved living in New Hampshire, he never forgot his Maine roots and the family and friends he made there. When his children were younger, he was involved with local youth sports. As an adult, he volunteered with helping the homeless, feeding the hungry, SPCA and the NH Colon Cancer Coalition annual Get Your Rear in Gear 5K fundraiser (mark your calendar for 9/8/2018). Always wanting to make someone smile or laugh with his bizarre humor reminds us of the help he provided to members of WOWW and the Liars Anonymous Club.
His love of nature was demonstrated by the flowers on his deck each year. His love for animals, being in the great (warm) outdoors, and the lovely island of Isla Mujeres where he was able to fulfill his remaining "bucket list" item of vacationing with his adult children.

Wayne had a love for life, family, friends and community. His motto, "Believe" will forever remind us to carry his legacy and "Pay it Forward." He will be missed as a being on this earth, but know he is not far. We can remember him best by keeping his spirit alive and living the way he did with compassion and love; it is what this world needs and the gift he leaves behind. Wayne found great solace and inspiration in the teachings of Dr. Wayne Dyer and, the book "The Secret" written by Rhonda Byrne. Perhaps they will give you comfort too.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 1 – 4pm at the Grappone Conference Center, 70 Constitution Avenue, Concord NH. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to support a charity near and dear to your heart or to The Gene Gillis Fund at Payson Center for Cancer Care. Contributions should be sent to Concord Hospital Trust, Office of Philanthropy, 250 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301 or can be made online at www.ch-trust.org, under Ways to Give, Tribute Giving, Memorial Gifts. Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements. To view full obituary or leave a message of condolence please go to www.phaneuf.net.

Patti..I have never met you but I feel like I know you...your precious Wayne inspired so many..but you know this..I'm sure you inspired each other and he was able to fight with humor and dignity in part because of you..People say so often you are in my prayers. Wayne or Superman as I still call him was my designated person fighting so hard for everyone suffering with cancer. His horse head and Superman boxers in chemo..Who does that? I mean no disrespect but he still
Makes me laugh and I'm pretty sure he was going for all of us to laugh and love life and each other..You are blessed as was he to have each other in your lives..I'm sure he is smiling down always on you..God bless you..I miss him and I hardly knew him...Adie Aubrey 4/1/2018 Johnstown, PA

Wayne was a person who went above and beyond in his work for Hunter Douglas. As a dealer, I would often have questions and Wayne would go beyond what was expected to make sure we had things right. Wayne was patient, respectful and kind. I'm happy to have known him as a colligue and he will be sorely missed! His optimism was and inspiration.

To Patti in honor of my dear friend Wayne,
We had a standing joke of pretending to try and kiss kind of loosely based on old Saturday Night Live Skits. The group of "guys" Wayne, Andrew, Phil, Steve, Herman, and Brent were some of the best friends I could have asked for in High School. I felt a special kindred match with Wayne as we tried to good and always have a smile for others. I am so glad he found you to fill his life again with love and happiness. He is a special soul and will shine in all of us far into the future.

Patti, words can't adequately express my sorrow. I only knew Wayne for the 7 short years we were neighbors at The Vineyards but he left an indelible mark on the way I look at the world, making me a better person for having known him. I'm very happy his suffering is at an end but I will miss his quick smile and sense of humor.

Patti, Ashley & Nick and The Charette Family,
My deepest condolences to you on Wayne's passing. He was a childhood as well as lifetime friend. He was what I consider the best of us! He will be greatly missed by so many friends. In allowing us to follow through to the end of his journey, he taught us what living was all about! He had great faith of the power of the human heart. I don't think a day will go by when we won't think, What would Wayne do? I know he'll be tending a beautiful garden for us to join him in when our paying it forward is through. Godspeed dear friend!!

Some people pass through your life for just a short time but yet make a mark on it forever...Wayne was one of those people. His kindnesses will always be remembered.
He showed so many of us how to fight the good fight and live life to the extreme.

Wayne touched my life from the moment I met him and taught me many things along our short journey on this earth. He will be missed by so many but has left me with a special gift of laughter and love in his antics, his Liar's anonymous meetings, his WwowW $20 references, his humility, paying it forward.... I am a better human being because of Wayne and his teachings and sharing of his knowledge. I "BELIEVE" he showed us how to LIVE and DIE with "GRACE". My deepest and heartfelt sympathies to Patti, Nick, Ashley, family and friends....With Love Babe ❤

My life is much richer for having had Wayne in it: funnier, kinder, more loving, and more grateful. I will continue to pay it forward, always thinking of him. I'll never look at a horse head the same way again. I will look for the joy, for the absurd, for the love, for the cheap laugh, for the deep abiding connections, for all the feelings. Godspeed, my friend.
