Tribute & Message From The Family

RODNEY ARTHUR TRAHAN

LITTLETON, NH – On Sunday, June 30, 2019, Rodney Arthur Trahan, loving son, husband, father, and Papa passed away suddenly at the age of 64.

Rod was born on November 27, 1954 in Littleton, NH to Arthur and Jeanette (Longchamp) Trahan.

He attended Catholic School in Littleton and Littleton High School and was very active in sports. On August 25, 1973 he married Donna Anderson. They raised two wonderful sons, Jesse and Colin. Together, Rod and Donna started Arrow Equipment, Inc. and later, with the help of Jesse and Colin expanded their business to include Arrow Express and most recently Arrow Central. With his construction background, they also have built many single-family homes in the area and have several rental properties.

Rod was very proud of his "3rd generation born and raised in Littleton" heritage and twice as proud that his sons and grandchildren would continue that heritage. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed teaching the sport to his boys and loved hunting with his Dad, brothers, sons and nephews. Rod was a very devoted son. He loved his mother very much and watched over her constantly. When they moved on the Connecticut River in 2006, he was excited about living on the water as waterskiing was his passion. And how he loved to waterski with his family and friends. The skiing friends he made during those years were priceless.

Rod was preceded in death by his father, Arthur and his brother Robert. He is survived by his mother, Jeanette, his wife Donna, his sons, Jesse and wife Danielle, Colin and his significant other Mandi Belyea, his grandchildren Greyson, Autumn, Reevely, Bode, Jay and Mathieu, his two "adopted" Canadian grandsons Joshua and Matthew, his brother Richard and wife Bonnie, sister Janice and husband John Brick, many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, his family of employees past and present and very special friends (you all know who you are…).

SERVICES – A Mass of Christian Rite will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Littleton, NH at 11:00 a.m. with The Very Reverend Mark Dollard as Celebrant. A gathering will follow at the Elks Club.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the ALS Foundation, the FindACure Scholarship Foundation, or a charity of your choice in Rod's name.

Condolence & Memory Journal

I just saw this. Rodney was a great guy. I can't think of anyone in our 'Class of 73' with a bigger heart. He was always a gentleman.

I really enjoyed coaching Rodney in basketball and cross country. I could never teach him to dunk.

Donna & Family- it's with a heavy heart that I offer my deepest sympathies at this most difficult time. I look back with fondness at the pick-up basketball and street hockey games of our youth. As much as he was a standout athlete, Rod was such a kind hearted person and an absolute joy to have him as a friend.

Donna and family, words cannot describe how sad I am to hear about Rod's death. He was one of the nicest person I have ever met. I am blessed to have known him and shared life with him from first grade in St. Rose through Littleton High. When I saw his Grandchildren listed it reminded me of our conversation we had at the last reunion. I was telling him about my Grandchildren and he was telling me about his wish for Grandchildren. I'm glad he got his wish. He may be gone from this earth, but he lives on.

"Rompin" Rod Trahan-my good buddy for 50 years. Grateful and thankful for your faithful friendship and so many good memories. One of those most joyful memories for me was on a cold December 1971 night in Concord NH. We had just won the Concord Christmas BBall tourney beating heavily favored Concord High school thanks much in part because of your great play that night. After celebrating our win at Howdy's Hamburger restaurant when we were all getting back on the bus to return to Littleton, you decided to skip over to a nearby Dunkin Donuts, and at that same time our bus pulled out without you. Just so happened as you exited Dunkin Donuts and saw the bus leaving you behind, into the Dunkin Donuts parking lot came a NH State Trooper. We were 5 miles outside of Concord and had no idea why a state trooper was pulling us champions over and as the bus driver opened the door to address the State Trooper in you walked Rod with the biggest smile and most boisterous laugh that lit up our bus with a thunderous roar.
Thank you "Romp"-I will never forget that night-I will never forget you-thank you for being my good buddy!!
