I was saddened to learn of Father Bernie's recent death. I have some wonderful memories of Father Bernie. When I was director of the Deaf Ministry in the Norwich Diocese we would see each other often. We also ran summer sessions together for our deaf youth at Crocheted Mt. One winter a snow storm stranded me at LaGuardia as I was flying south for a NCOD week. Who do I meet among the crowd of strandees, but Bernie!! He invited me to wait out the storm with him at his mother's home at Breezy Pt. She took great care of us! My condolences to Father Bernie's family and also to Sr. Pauline, his good friend and faithful colleague. I will remember him at Mass and in prayer. May he Rest In Peace!

Father Capbell was a great friend to our family. He married my wife Marybeth and I and our daughter and her husband as well. We always enjoyed his great conversations and the many laughs we had together. We will miss him but always remember him!

Fr. Campbell was a great person and an excellent priest and my best friend. I will surely miss all the good conversations that I had with him. He was very spiritual and very intellectual. Thank you for helping me when I needed more attention. I am sure you must be enjoying heaven a lot and continue to play music for all your friends who are with you. This was truly a shock for me Fr. Bernie so please help me when I need your help as I will still ask you for advice. Sr. Pauline

Bernie could sight-read almost ANY bass music put in front of him! He played in the Epsom Town 1band for the last several years and we got to know him in that context. I enjoyed playing alongside him and visiting with him after rehearsals and concerts. He WILL be missed!

Fr, Bernie was not only a great priest, but also a great man all around. I first met him when he was at St. Catherine's on Webster St. I also knew him through the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He knew how to do a sermon, that people would listen and pay attention to. He will surely be missed by all that knew him.

Fr Bernie will be so missed at St Catherine's of Siena. We greatly enjoyed his homilies as he was so down to earth and had a way of connecting with people. He had a true gift. May he rest in peace.

Fr. Bernie will be sadly missed at 4:30 Mass at St. Catherine of Siena parish, where he served at least once a month for several years. He was one of a kind, in the most delightful way!

I know Fr. Bernie through the Alumni Band. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Not mentioned elsewhere is that he also had a music ministry at the state prison. I'll miss your smile, Bernie, but you've gone to a better place now.

I will always remember Fr Bernie as a great friend who always had time to chat with anybody, at any time.He especially enjoyed relating his many stories about growing up in his beloved New York. He was an accomplished musician who was a joy to be on the job with. Farewell, my friend

The obituary doesn't mention that Fr. Bernie was an avid bass player - both electric and string bass. He played jazz in both small ensembles and big bands. And he played in an Army Alumni band. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he played a little rock-n-roll, too.

You will be missed.

Fr. Bernie was a ray of light! I had a chance to spend time with him at Crotched Mountain Rehab where he said Mass for the kids with his guitar for decades. He brought so many smiles, much joy and happiness to so many for so long. He also served in a prison ministry at the mens prison in Concord where he said mass often. This was truly a good man. I have no doubt he is in heaven. He will be missed here in NH.Thank you Fr Bernie for your service and for the joy and hope you brought to so many!

Fr Bernie will be remembered for his love of life, love of music and his gift of sign language to the deaf community; but most of all he was true to his Religious vocation. He will be missed, especially his timely homilies.
