Tribute & Message From The Family

Elsie Lorraine French, 91, passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, FL on March 14, 2020.

She was born in New Ross, Nova Scotia, Canada on May 22, 1928 to Harold and Verna Reeves and was one of eleven children. She is predeceased by all of her siblings and her spouse of sixty-nine years.

She married Harold A. French, a merchant seaman from Newfoundland, in 1947 and emigrated to the United States in 1949. In 1955 Elsie and Harold moved to Candia, NH where they raised four children: Bruce (Marjorie) French, Prattsburgh, NY, Suzanne Marmuscak, Lake Placid, FL, Thomas (Diane) French, Goffstown NH, and Mark (Darlene) French, Allenstown, NH.

Elsie remained a homemaker until 1962 when she went to work at Pandora in Manchester, NH for twenty-eight years. She then became employed at Globe Manufacturing in Pittsfield, NH until her retirement at the age of seventy-two.

Elsie is survived by seven grandchildren: Nathan (Linda) French, Matthew (Cama) French, Thomas (Ashley) French, Melanie Biladeau, Jason (Maria) French, Adam (Katie) Marmuscak Taylor French; and ten great grandchildren: Courtney, Vivian, Marina, Amelia, Oliver, Myles, Gabriel, Logan, Michael and Rory. Her family was her priority and she never missed acknowledging a birthday or holiday.

She loved the Boston Red Sox and her children lovingly referred to her as the "general manager" as she rarely missed a game. Her other favorite pastimes included trips to the casino, cooking for her family
and crocheting.

A service celebrating her life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice House, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL. Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Suzanne, Mark, Bruce, Tom, Adam - We are so sorry for your big loss. We were lucky to have had Elsie in our lives, and the be able to spend time with her to the end. So many memories, both in Florida, New Hampshire (with Harold) and New York. A trip to Candia was always full of fun and music, and good food. Elsie, you're with Harold again, a least we all have the memories. You made the world a better place for all who knew you. You will live in our hearts forever. All our love to your family - Dorthe, Emily, John and Rick.

What wonderful memories have been left for Family and Friends. The little lady with a big heart, wonderful smile and an infectious laugh. Elsie loved to have her Family and Friends around and so while she has left those of us here on Earth she has now joined her Heavenly ones and will one day greet us at The Big Gates when they open up for us. So Elsie farewell until we meet again
