Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Mary by adding your memories and photos.

Mary Louise,90, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 6th, 2020 in Lancaster NH as a resident of Country Village Center. Mary was born in Scarborough Maine, to Delia and Albert MacKay on December 19, 1929. She attended school in Lisbon and graduated in 1947. She married Earl G. Laleme on April 16, 1949. She worked at Littleton Stamp and Coin, the Franconia College, Littleton Hospital and the Town of Bethlehem as a Dispatch clerk after retiring in the late 90's. Mary, commonly referred to as Mimi to her many beloved grandchildren and Aunt Mary to so many nieces and nephews who she adored, loved her family deeply. She spent her life surrounded by those who loved her and enjoyed telling her many stories and listening to all who surrounded her kitchen table. Mary enjoyed her many animals, reading, crocheting, sewing, doing puzzles of all kinds, and playing card games. She would often have a puzzle going on a cloth ready to roll up at a moment's notice when company cameā€¦and company came many days to Mary's house. Her home was open to all and when you were there you felt like family. Mary's, Mimi's, kindness and love was and is an example to all. She will be truly missed. Mary is predeceased by her husband Earl, son Gary, both of her parents and ten siblings. Mary is survived by her son, Earl G. Laleme Jr., daughter-in-law Ann Laleme, sister Madalynn Drouse, sister Gloria Louis and her husband David, sister Diane Acres, sister-in-law Betty MacKay, 3 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. The family of Mary wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Country Village Center in Lancaster, NH and their staff for the care they showed her during her stay - especially to her favorite staff member, Kathy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in memory of her brother Kenneth MacKay. Mary had several charities that were close to her heart but efforts to fund treatment and research for her brother's disease would mean the most to her family. Calling hours and viewing will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home, Littleton New Hampshire on Friday, December 11th, 2020 from 10am until 11.30am. Masks and social distancing will be required. Funeral services will be held in the spring of 2021 at a graveside service in Bethlehem NH. Arrangement have been entrusted to Pillsbury-Phaneuf Funeral Home.
