Message From The Family
Thank you for your support during this difficult time.
Please enhance this tribute to Mili by adding your memories and photos.
Mildred Frances "Mili" Cutrufello died on December 5, 2020 in Boca Raton, FL, in hospice care from metastasizing breast cancer. She was 88.
Mili was born Carmella Frances Cutrufello on September 24, 1932 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Anthony Cutrufello and Julia Plotkiewicz. She graduated from Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport, Class of 1951, and The University of Connecticut, Class of 1955. She received her Master's and Sixth-Year degrees in Education from The University of Bridgeport.
A lifelong educator, Mili began her career in elementary education at John Barry School in Meriden, CT in 1955, but made her greatest mark as a member of the faculty of Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, CT. She was a Guidance Counselor from 1966 to 1977, and a Housemaster (Assistant Principal) from 1977 until her retirement in 1992. She returned to work as Director of Secondary Education for the Norwalk Public Schools from 2005 to 2007. Mili was the first female high school assistant principal in the City of Norwalk.
Mili is survived by two daughters, Mary Cutrufello and Joanne James; lifelong friend Mary Kehoe; grandchildren Jasmine, Aaron, and Taevon Miller; and great-grandchildren Na'Zirah and Ja'Melah Miller.
Services will be held at Annunciation Church in Ludlow, VT at a date to be determined in the Spring.
Condolence & Memory Journal
To daughters Mary and Joanne, and Mary Kehoe:
We lost a gracious lady who could rule with an iron fist, have the gentleness required to deal with student tradegies, and a sense of humor when dealing with staff and students. I thoroughly enjoyed having worked with Milli for over 25 years, and knowing she could have our backs if needed. The world is missing a good soul.

Mary and Family, I am very sorry to hear of Millie's passing. I worked with her during my time at Rowayton School, and we crossed paths frequently after that...she was a great friend, and someone you could always count on. In Millie's case "they don't make them like they used to" is a very apt and heartfelt remembrance. Rest in peace Millie!

I had the pleasure and honor to work with Millie when she returned to Norwalk both as a principal and a special education administrator. I was very impressed by her knowledge, her poise, the sense of security and comfort she transmitted and her care and compassion to the staff and students. I also had the pleasure to meet her family. To her daughters Joanne and Mary as well as grandchildren and friends I hope you find the strength to deal with this loss through the wonderful memories she left. May she rest in peace.
