Condolence & Memory Journal

If it is possible to have a best friend on the internet Hank would be mine. We shared a love of music above everything else even the cigars and whisky that tied us together originally. I only knew Hank for 15 years and considering that he was a Squid and I a Jarhead that is really saying something. We'll have a hell of a party when we meet up Brother.

I never had the pleasure to meet Hank in person but got to know him over the years from our shared love of cigars. He taught many of us about his passion for music, cigars, whiskey and life in general and a great many of us are grateful for our time we got to spend with him. My prayers are with his family and his memory will not be forgotten by me.

I have never met Hank in person but I can tell you he had an affect on me and I’m positive many, many others. Our cigar community is a special one and Hank was one of the reasons. I had many conversations with him in our forum and he inspired me to be better. I’m from the west coast and he would refer to me as Paul said “flat lander” I always looked forward to his birthday wish, it was always the same. “Happy birthday young fella”
I learned a lot from him. Thank you Sir for your service, and your kindness. Under that gruff exterior was a great man. He will be missed.

Hank and I only met one time but his passion for Cigars brought us together and for that one day meeting face to face with a Legend from our online cigar community I knew he was a great man! The stories he would share with some of us about his family and the time he spent every year at the beach were touching and you knew he was a great guy. A few of us on the forum were just asking about Doc (as we know him) and where he has been. My heart goes out to his entire family and for those that do not know he was a big part of so many lives that never met him. Being from VT he would always refer to us as flat landers or call all of us young fella when wishing us happy birthday. I know I speak for so many when I say the community will miss Doc deeply!

Until we meet again, cheers my friend!

Hank, I only met you once. But, if Sue was as devoted to you as she was, then I know you meant more than the world to her. I am sorry for your passing & hope that Sue can recover. I will be there for her!
