Condolence & Memory Journal

Dave was a wonderful friend when we worked together in Belmont. A terrific mentor, compassionate teacher and innovator, he was a terrific colleague. Dave had a wonderful sense of humor and I was a (willing) target and co-conspirator in some of his better pranks. He has left an empty place in the world. I pray he is enjoying the ocean, forests, flowers and love God provides for His own.

Dave Kenney had become a good friend to me, my wife Susan, daughter Emily and my mom Eleanor in the White Mountains To us he was an example of a perfect human being. We miss Dave with great sadness but will try to follow his great example of excellent character and fun loving nature for the rest of our lives. We also had the good fortune to know his Dad Arthur Kenney who he looked after in his old age with great care. He taught Dave a lot about good character which was passed on to us that we will never forget.

The loss of a good and long time friend is painful. Dave had a warm and generous heart. May God bless his truly fine soul.

I am so incredibly sad to hear of David’s passing. He was a wonderful, kind, gentle giant of a man. I choose to believe he is now with his beloved Mom, his fantastic Dad and his wonderful Grandparents. My condolences to his family. RIP David. You will be missed my friend.

We met Dave and Art on the day we moved into our North Reading house on Timber Lane in 2006. Art spotted the Holy Cross sticker on my car and we became instant friends. The bonus, besides Art being my husband's former principal, was becoming friends with Dave. We had nice chats with both of them during their visits to the NR house, but the highlights were attending Fenway Park and Holy Cross College together. We loved visiting Dave at his house in Littleton. Each time there was a new project to admire along with the beautiful view, colorful flowers and great company. What a kind, smart man who was always a dear friend. We will miss him! Love, The Meaney Family

Dave's enthusiasm for the Bethlehem Hebrew Congregation chamber music series "Sounds in the Sanctuary" knew no bounds. It was always a pleasure having him as part of our audience and his wise counsel based on his his experience in the world of performing arts here in the North Country was always very welcome. We will dearly miss Dave at our future concerts.

I left Dave a voice mail the evening before he passed that he will never hear -- but he left me with memories of many great years of friendship, at the Weathervane and outside of it...we'll never get that post-Covid trip to Grandma's, or share a spot at the Inn again...but I'll think of him often with great affection. Adieu, my friend, with love ~

Through his involvement at AMC Cardigan Lodge in central NH in the 90s, Dave became a family friend as he interacted with my parents, and a part of my fond memories from working high school summers as AMC Croo. A very affable man, full of good stories, hardy laughs, generosity. A loyal friend to people of all ages. We will all miss Dave. Becky (Smith) Buchmelter

I had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Kenney while a student at Belmont High School in the 1990s. He was always such a good natured and knowledgable person and always so happy to help the students and faculty with all of their production needs at a moment's notice. He will be missed by all that knew him and had the opportunity to learn with his influence.
