Donald F. Martineau, 89, of Hooksett, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Hillsborough County Rehabilitation Center after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease and other health issues.

Born on July 27, 1929, he is the son of the late Amedee and Bertha (Poulette) Martineau. Raised and educated in Manchester, he was a graduate of Manchester Central High School.

An honorably discharged veteran, Donald proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, 1951-1953.

Following his military service, Don worked for Royal Press and the Concord Monitor until he established his own printing company, Mar-Don Printing. His beloved wife, Pat, helped him run the business for many years.

Don was an active member of his church, Holy Rosary, Hooksett. A longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4961, Don was a Grand Knight, the former Financial Secretary, and held a variety of State Offices. Don was the former Treasurer and President of the former Hooksett Men's Club. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The most important person in Don's life was his wife of 63 years, Patricia, affectionately known as Patsy. She cared for him throughout his illness for more than a decade. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his daughter, Donna Newell and husband, Dave; brother, Francis "Pete" Martineau and wife, Terry; sister-in-law, Priscilla Martineau; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Roland, Raymond, and Rene Martineau; and sister, Irene.

ARRANGEMENTS: His visitation will be held in the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Main St., Hooksett, on Monday, October 22, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Committal to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don's memory to the Knights of Columbus, Council 4961, P.O. Box 16251, Hooksett, NH 03106 or to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
