Lorenzo "Larry" P. Gauthier, Jr., 83, of Goffstown, beloved husband of Pauline (Proulx) Gauthier, passed away "fighting the good fight" against lung cancer on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester, he was the son of the late Lorenzo Gauthier, Sr. and Lillian (Bourque) Gauthier. Raised and educated in Manchester, Larry served as a Fire Control Technician in the United States Navy from 1951 – 1959. After being honorably discharged Larry was employed by H.P. Hood for over 40 years in sales, marketing and warehouse management. After his retirement Larry worked part-time for Acosta Sales and Sanel Auto Parts. Larry was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Pauline (Proulx) Gauthier; son Daniel Gauthier and his wife Cheryl of Manchester, NH and daughter Diane Carrier of Manchester, NH. Larry was a devoted and much loved Pépère to Christen, Courtney and Matthew Carrier and Roxanne Gauthier all of Manchester, NH.
Larry is also survived by three sisters Terri Halle of IN, Lillian St. Germain and her husband Robert of NC, Jacqueline Chaput and her husband Normand of FL, one brother Paul Gauthier and his wife Mary of WA, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, Mark Carrier; brother, Edward Gauthier; brother in law, John Halle; sister, Connie Gauthier; sister, Claire Freije and her husband Ralph.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Gathering will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Friday, April 21 from 4:00 to 7:00P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Parish of the Transfiguration, 107 Alsace St., Manchester on Saturday, April 22 at 10:00 A.M. followed by his Committal Service at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Larry's memory to the Jutras Post #43, 56 Boutwell St., Manchester, NH 03102. To commemorate Larry's love of dancing, donations will be used to replace the Hall dance floor.
