Obituary

On June 11, 2020, at the age of 93, MarieAnne Arguin passed away. She was born in L'Ange-Gardien, Quebec, Canada. MarieAnne will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

MarieAnne cared for her husband (Gilles) during his own health battle of 15+ years. She devotedly attended daily to her son (Michael) during his years in the VA hospital, until his passing. She also worked alongside her husband at Lafayette Press for many years. She was an active member of several organizations, such as The Ladies of Saint Anne and Les Coeur Joyuex. She volunteered at her local parish, Ste. Marie; working in the chapel and at many events. She also was a volunteer for both CMC and Elliot Hospitals, donating countless hours and materials for knitted baby sets and baby blankets for newborns. She also knitted & crocheted many afghans for other patients. MarieAnne also enjoyed many other forms of crafts: knitting, crocheting, beading, plastic canvas and other crafts of all kinds. She has gifted her family and friends with many many of the various heirloom pieces and hundreds of Christmas ornaments (her favorite season).
For MarieAnne, family and her faith was most important. She was always ready and willing to help anyone who asked her. She has been an inspiration to all her family and friends. She will always be loved, remembered and missed.

MarieAnne was predeceased by her husband, Gilles Arguin in 1995, and her son, Michael Arguin in 1972; her sisters: Laurence Mathieu (Gérard Arguin), Lucille Mathieu (Vincent Rainville), and Maude Mathieu (Jean-Pierre Vézina); and her brother: Guy Mathieu (Rollande Barrette).
The surviving family includes: daughter, Joanne Watts (late Harold Watts); sons, C. Andy Arguin (Cynthia Arguin), Guy Arguin (Michelle Arguin); grand-children, Lisa Watts, Andy Arguin, April Arguin, Christopher Arguin and Jennifer Arguin. Also saddened by her departure is her brother Émilio Mathieu (late Rachelle Jobidon), as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends of the Arguin and Mathieu families. She took care of foster children for many years; among the longest of them were brothers William (Billy) and James (Jimmy) Davis.
