Obituary

Rino Sanchioni, 86, passed away at Villa Crest Nursing & Retirement Center in Manchester on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 following an extended illness. Born in Stamford, CT, Rino was the son of Attilio Sanchioni and Elvira (Righi) Sanchioni. Both his parents emigrated from Italy as young adults.

Rino grew up in Stamford, CT and graduated from Trade School. He served in the US Navy for four years during the Korean War and toured the world aboard the carrier USS Coral Sea.
He married the love of his life, Dolores (Adamkowski) on January 21, 1956. Rino was a self-employed finish carpenter and an accomplished cabinet maker. Along with his two sons, he
operated a family carpentry business. The family moved from Darien, CT to Francestown, NH around 1972. In his younger years, Rino served on the Francestown Fire Department. He was a long-term communicant of Devine Mercy Parish in Peterborough, NH. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as fishing, golfing, ballroom dancing, and the many trips he and his wife took to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

Rino is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; his son, Mark Sanchioni and wife Diane of New Boston, NH; his son, Kenneth Sanchioni of Francestown, NH; his daughter, Cheryl (Sanchioni) Massicotte and husband Phil of Nottingham, NH; two grandchildren, Patrick Massicotte
of Pittsfield, NH and Brianna (Massicotte) Hyland and husband Terry of Cornish, NH; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Sanchioni, and two sisters, Helen (Sanchioni) Lodato and Jean Sanchioni.

The family expresses gratitude for the compassion and loving care provided by the staff at Villa Crest.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 23rd from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., in Manchester. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery on High Street in Peterborough, NH on Monday April 24th at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Francestown Volunteer Fire Department, 250 2nd NH Turnpike, Francestown, NH 03043.
