Marion B. Erskine, 98, of Manchester, NH, passed away January 30, 2016 at The Manor At Birch Hill Terrace.

Marion was born September 12, 1917 in Manchester, NH, a daughter of Witalius & Alice (Wilcomb) Backer. She was a graduate of Manchester Central High School as well as Hesser College and was alifelong resident of this community.

Prior to retirement, Marion was employed with Manchester Credit Bureau for many years.

Marion was a longtime active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, having been a member since the age of 12. She was also very active with the Daughters of Scotia as well as the Salvation Army Womens Auxiliary.

Marion was pre-deceased by her husband, Harold G. Erskine.

Family includes three children, C. Richard Erskine and his wife, Kathy, Bruce Erskine and his wife, Helen and Jane McCoy and her husband, Brian; six grandchildren, Kate Erskine, Greg Erskine, Michael Erskine, Mark Erskine, Tim McCoy and Ryan McCoy; four great-grandchildren, Cora Erskine-McWhirter, Margo Erskine-McWhirter, Thomas Erskine and Lucy McCoy; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cate & Johnson Funeral Home, 573 Pine Street, corner of Harrison Street in Manchester.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, corner of Smyth and Bruce Roads in Manchester. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Birch Hill Terrace – Benevolent Fund, 200 Alliance Way, Manchester, NH, 03102 and/or Visiting Nurses Association of Manchester, 1070 Holt Ave., Manchester, NH, 03109.
